Archos 8 G2 Review
The Archos 8 G2 (second generation) tablet runs 1GHz Rockchip 2918 single core processor, which is supported by Vivante Corporation GC800 GPU and 512MB of RAM. It comes with an 8″ display at 800×600 pixels resolution. The device is manufactured from black-colored plastics; but the brilliant surface tends to catch fingerprints easily. MicroUSB port, microSD card slot, power button, power LED, reset button and 3.5mm headphone jack are located on the sides.
Both stereo speakers are located on left side and due to their close proximity, stereo sound quality is not fully optimized. Unlike other Archos tablets that use 16/9 or 16/10 aspect ratio, which are more suitable for watching movies, the Archos 8 G2 uses 4:3 aspect ratio which is better for Web browsing and e-book reading. Unfortunately, it is only equipped with VGA front-facing camera and weighs slightly less than 500 grams.
