Back in summer last year, we’ve heard about the Asus Transformer AiO P-1801; an 18.4” desktop, which can transform to 18.4” tablet. It runs Windows 8 as a desktop and Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) as a tablet. This isn’t a typical transforming product; the display is powered by Nvidia Tegra 3 processor when detached.

As a complete unit, the desktop sports Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB of RAM, Nvidia GeForce GT 730M GPU and 1TB HDD. While other tablet manufacturers offer only smaller 10” and 7” tablets, Asus is convinced there’s a market for something much bigger.

It’s obviously far too unwieldy to be used as normal tablet, but should still be useful as a portable device that runs multimedia content and presentations. Home users can bring the tablet anywhere inside the house when they gather during special occasions to view photos and run movies.

Office workers may find it easier to perform presentation and meeting anywhere, without being restricted in a specific room. The tablet only has 5 hours of battery life, which is adequate for use on a long meeting and playing three movies.
