Eden Tab Review
Unlike other manufacturers of Android devices, the Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi, uses custom ROM for its tablet, the Eden Tab. Just like its cousin, the MI-One smartphone also released by Xiaomi, the Eden Tab shares the simple, utilitarian exterior. Specs are nothing unusual a 1.2GHz single-core processor, 7” display (1280×800), 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. Ports include the microSD card (up to 32GB), microUSB port for data transfer and charging; and a full-sized HDMI port.
The modified OS is based on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) and Xiomi is preparing a ROM based on Ice Cream Sandwich, despite the presence of three capacitive buttons. The tablet is available for $370 and it ships in pink, black and white. The 3G version is slated for April 2012, but at the time writing, there’s no word for its release date yet.
