Many have speculated that the Lenovo IdeaTab A2109 is set for release in September, but it is already sold with a price tag of $299.99. Like the Nexus 7, the tablet also boasts a 1.2GHz Nvidia Tegra 3 processor plus a larger display, HDMI output and rear-facing camera. A smaller version if this tablet with 7” display has been spotted very recently at the FCC, but it’s still currently unavailable in stores. The Lenovo IdeaTab A2109 runs Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0), 1GB of (LPDDR) RAM and 16GB of onboard storage.
The display has a rather unusual size of 9” and a resolution of 1280×800, with a rather limited 4-point multi-touch capability. In the back area, there’s a 3Mp camera, which is complemented by a 1.3Mp shooter at the front. The innards are protected by a roll cage to keep them safe from drops and shocks. Lenovo hasn’t announced whether their latest tablets are in line for a Jelly Bean update, which could make fans of Android 4.1 wary.
