Samsung Extends Its Lead Over Nokia With The First Windows 8 Tablet
Samsung is strengthening its position in the industry by unveiling a Windows 8 Tablet with amazing light form factor. The ATIV Tab (backward spelling of “Vita”) borrows design elements used by Samsung’s Android tablets with tactile-brushed aluminum rear panel and slim design. The ATIV Tab has the powerful 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor supported by 2GB of RAM.
Unfortunately, the ATIV Tab doesn’t come with a stylus and the front facing camera is reported to have lackluster performance. The company has packed an active stylus model, the S-Pen, to some of its devices including Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 and Galaxy Note 2. For many users, the absence may not be a problem, but others may find it disappointing. Nevertheless, the 10-point multi touch capability should compensate for the lack of stylus somewhat.
Samsung’s new tablet will surely shape up as a strong contender among future Windows 8 devices with its impressive hardware and rich, color-saturated display.
