ZTE T98 Preview
Attendees discovered one little gem among a many new tablets showcased in CES 2012. It was the ZTE 98, a tablet with 7” WXGA (1280×800) display, Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core processor and Android 4.0. The ZTE T98 might be prepared for China Mobile. The quad-core processor was apparently underclocked to 1.3GHz, a common method to keep the battery capacity small and make the device slimmer. Its 4000mAh battery should be able to keep the tablet running for one whole day with average use.
The processor is supported by 1GB of RAM, while the 5Mp rear-facing camera supports 1080pHD video capture, but unfortunately with no LED flash. The rubberized back is fingerprint resistant, but not so with the shiny chrome edges. The tablet accept voice calls and text message, while few people would make a tablet as primary phone, both features are useful in some cases.
