Acer Iconia Tab A220 Could be Planned for a Release Next Year
Somewhere deep inside Acer’s R&D facility, researchers could be working on a new tablet and it could be called the Iconia Tab A220. The tablet is expected to arrive with a 1.3GHz Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core processor and Jelly Bean (Android 4.1). The company doesn’t offer any information but the tablet’s screen size for the time being, but hints lead us toward a 7” inch display with 720p resolution.
It was reported previously that Acer is deliberately delaying the release of its Windows RT tablet, perhaps to observe how the Microsoft Surface tablet will fare. While the initial plan was for a release on Q1 2013, the Tab A220 could eventually arrive after Q2 2012.
Previously, the Acer Iconia Tab A510 appeared in India with the same 1.3GHz Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core processor and “Acer Ring” UI on top of the Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0).
