Amazon Releases Kindle Fire HD 8.9″

Finally, Amazon announced that it has shipped the 8.9″ version of Kindle Fire HD. The tablet’s release is just in time with the near arrival of holiday season and it is ready for sales on Amazon website at only $299.  Those who don’t want to wait for the tablet to be shipped from Amazon’s warehouses, should visit the nearest Best Buy store.

The earlier Kindle Fire HD is one of the best selling tablets in the market and sporting a more impressive set of hardware specs; the new 8.9 model should attract buyers who want a bigger display. The Amazon Kindle Fire HD comes with an 8.9″ (1920 x 1200) display, TI Omap 4470 dual-core processor, PowerVR SGX544 GPU and dual band WiFi connectivity.

Promising 10 hours of battery life, the new tablet will pack a front facing HD camera and Dolby Digital Plus with dual stereo speakers. It is also expected that the 4G LTE version of the tablet will also be released in coming weeks.
