Details of the HTC Flyer 2 Are Released
HTC released the decent 7” tablet, the Flyer, but the firms seemed to give up on it rather too quickly. The tablet is considered capable for its day, but considering the $499 price tag, it provides less value today. Debuted with the smartphone-optimized, Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), we shouldn’t be too surprised that tablet failed to live up to expectations. Fortunately, HTC isn’t done with the brand just yet and according to latest rumors, the next Flyer would be faster, thinner, lighter and above all, run a proper Android build, the Jelly Bean.
HTC manages to develop a 7.1mm thin system with the use of anodized aluminum, quite a feat in the age of ever-thinning mobile devices. With a 7” display at 1280 x 768 pixels resolution, we should see something similar in terms of sharpness to the Google-Acer Nexus, but more solid and much thinner. Other details are a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor, 3Mp rear-facing camera and 1Mp front-facing snapper.
