KDDI AQUOS Pad SHT21 is the First Commercially AVailable IGZO Tablet in the Market

KDDI AQUOS Pad SHT21

KDDI AQUOS Pad SHT21IGZO display is widely known for being very efficient and it is claimed to draw two-thirds less power than normal LCD. This would allow manufacturers to use higher display resolutions and other advanced technologies. KDDI AQUOS Pad SHT21 is the first tablet with IGZO display. The 7” display with 1280 x 800 pixels resolution may not be all that stellar, but it promises 2.5 times better battery life. Obviously, this is not comparable to the stunning 6.1” display with 2560 x 1600 resolutions, which was showcased in IFA 2012 as the small tablet is focused more on longer battery life.

The tablet is sufficiently powerful with its 1.5GHz Qualcomm MSM8960 dual core processor and 1GB of RAM. The 8Mp rear-facing camera and VGA front-facing shooter are adequate for a 7” tablet. It uses Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0) and the 16GB of onboard storage is expandable with up to 32GB of microSD card.
