Toshiba Excite 7.7

Toshiba Excite 7.7Toshiba is known for delivering exceptional items, although at slightly higher price than the competition. The Japanese electronic company delivers glamour and adorns the products with sheer perfection. The Toshiba Excite 7.7 is a premium Ice Cream Sandwich tablet with an eye-popping AMOLED display. Despite its slimness, the Excite 7.7 is protected by brushed aluminum back and the durable Gorilla Glass. There’s a 1.3Mp camera on the front and a 5Mp camera on the rear. The 7.7” display uses 1280 x 800 pixels resolution and at 196ppi, images and texts are sufficiently crisp. Colors on the Excite 7.7 glow nicely and when held next to its larger brothers, the Excite 13 and Excite 10, images on the Excite 7.7 stand out. This is quite obvious, as the Excite 7.7 has higher pixel density, the Excite 13 has 120 ppi and the Excite 10 has 149 ppi.

With its smaller form factor, Nvidia Tegra quad core processor and Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), the Excite 7.7 can be a solid gaming platform. The tablet includes a special Toshiba docking port, 3.5mm headphone jack, microUSB port and microSD card slot. The tablet will be offered in two internal storage options: 16GB and 32GB.

The Toshiba Excite 7.7 is intended as a direct successor of the now discontinued Toshiba Thrive 7. Unlike the Thrive 7, the Excite 7.7 supports HSDPA data connection and it is also 20 grams lighter. The Tegra 3 quad-core processor is a vast improvement over the Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core processor used on the older tablet. Both have 1GB of RAM but, the ULP GeForce 2 GPU should offer significantly better graphic performance than the Thrive 7. The Excite 7.7 also lacks the microHDMI port available in Thrive 7.
