ZTE is aiming to have a bigger role in the mobile industry and it managed to fight its way up to the top 5 list of biggest smartphone makers in Q4 2012. Now, ZTE is planning to take on Apple’s more affordable tablet, the iPad Mini with its V81. The tablet sports a 8” (1024 x 768) 4:3 display and runs Jelly Bean (Android 4.1) OS.
Under the hood, there are a 1.4GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, microSD card slot, 4GB of onboard storage, VGA front-facing camera, 2Mp rear-facing snapper and 3700mAh battery.
The ZTE V81 is designed have the overall shape of the Apple iPad Mini, although it is slightly bigger due to the thicker bezel. Its connectivity options include WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1 microUSB port, GPS and HDMI out port. There’s no word on pricing details and we are better off holding out breath before we hear more from the company.
