Toshiba LT170 Review
Toshiba previous tablets, the Thrive 7 and Thrive 10 were moderately successful. A few weeks ago, Toshiba quietly released a new tablet called the LT170 in Italy. The 7” tablet uses a rather unusual processor, the 1GHz Freescale iMX54 processor, which is supported by 512MB of RAM. Its 8GB of internal storage is supplemented by a microSD card and just like other tablets it has a miniUSB port and a couple of cameras, 2Mp rear-facing and VGA (0.3Mp) front-facing cameras. The Li-Ion battery provides enough juice for 7 hours of non-stop video playback. Unfortunately, it still uses Gingerbread (Android 2.3) and specs wise, nothing is impressive and it should’ve been launched in 2003. Apparently, the key selling point is its weight, at 0.86 pounds or 388 grams; the LT170 is the lightest among 7” Android tablets.
