Apple Will Add Wireless Charging Capability to Future iPad Smart Cover

Apple habitually keeps us excited with interesting new glimpses into its future devices. The company has recently applied a patent about improved iPad Smart Cover design that includes induction charging module and a built-in battery. Both components will significantly enhance the usefulness of iPad Smart Cover as users get the portable wireless charging capability.

Users will be able to charge their iPad using the inductive charging coils that are connected wirelessly to the iPad itself. The Smart Cover must be plugged in to enable the wireless charging feature and there’s a possibility to fit solar panels to pick up free energy from the sun.

A second patent application has also been revealed and it describes a camera module with built-in optical zooming feature that can fit inside an iPad and even iPhone case. It also includes a light splitter cube to produce more color-accurate content.
