Samsung is a prolific maker of Android tablet, but it has no intention on skipping the chance of releasing tablets running Windows RT/8. Samsung Ativ Tab weighs 1.2 pounds and measures 0.35” thick; which put it on par with many Android tablets out there. The tablet comes with a nice slate grey backing and 10.1” HD LCD display. Windows RT only runs on ARM-based platforms and it can’t run legacy Windows software. Despite this, Microsoft assures that the OS will still offer a complete Windows-based experience.
The tablet also sports Bluetooth 4.0 capabilities, 8200mAh battery, NFC, microSD card slot, microHDMI ports and a standard USB port. The Ativ Tab is powered by a 1.5Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor and 64GB of onboard storage. The tablet has a 1.9Mp front-facing camera and 5Mp rear camera with LED flash. With Samsung’s huge consumer base, the Ativ Tab has a promising prospect in the market. Samsung customers may consider the Ativ Tab as an ideal productivity device.
