Asus Padfone 2 is Officially Unveiled
Moments after images of the Asus Padfone 2 were leaked on the Internet, the Taiwanese company finally announces the device officially. Users can use PadFone 2 as a standalone smartphone or turn it into a tablet with the optional PadFone Station. The Padfone 2 comes with a spacious 4.7” 720p Super IPS+ display, protected with Corning Fit Glass. The display is a noticeable upgrade to the 4.3” display used by the original. The Padfone Station further enhances user experience by adding a 10.1” 1280 x 8000 IPS display.
The PadFone 2 is powered by a Smapdragon S4 Pro quad-core chip clocked at 1.5GHz and 2GB of RAM. It is a bit disappointing that the phone will ship with the older Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). The smartphone-tablet hybrid also flaunts 13Mp rear-facing camera (with f/2.4 BSI sensor and 1080p capability), 1.2 front-facing snapper, 2140mAh non-removable battery and NFC capability. The PadFone Station comes with its own 5000mAh battery, as well as microUSB and microSIM ports.
