Microsoft has benefited significantly from the release of its new operating system, Windows 8/RT and the Surface Tablet quickly gained a significant backing from many people. Amidst all the excitements, Microsoft plans to take one step further by releasing a new tablet called the Surface Pro early next year.
It is believed that the Surface Pro will deliver the kind of tablet experience closer to what we see with on desktops and computers. The new device will fill in a few missing components. The Surface RT is based on ARM hardware platform, which is capable of running apps available in Windows Store but lacks support for legacy software used by previous Windows OS versions, such as Outlook and Windows Media Player.
Microsoft is still developing strategies to deliver Surface tablets, Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8 in mobile industry. Endorsements from important entertainment figures, like Oprah Winfrey, could be a logical approach to gain public trust. There are also rumors suggesting that the company is looking to release its own smartphone model, which would further solidify its presence in the industry.
